La Taifas Restaurant

La Taifas–restaurant with national cuisine, located in the heart of the capital, at the intersection of Bucharest and Pushkin Street.

For seven years, this restaurant represents “the card” of the Republic of Moldova for  many visitors and residents of the capital .Its name speaks for itself, translated from the Romanian "la Taifas" - means "for intimate conversations." That's how you can describe the holiday in this lovely place.

Just a few steps down ... and you get to the house of Master - the "Casa Mare", with wooden furniture and woolen carpets, with clay jars and linen tablecloths ... The atmosphere is warm and the hospitality of Moldovan land. At the entrance you are met with a good glass of white house wine, and after the meal, you pour on one for the road a glass of red. And the whole evening virtuos musicians perform for you on national instruments motifs of this region.

 You make sure that the kitchen of the restaurant "La Taifas" includes only the most delicious traditional food - it stuffed grape leaves, and savory stew in pots, and unique sausages, and the "crown of creation" - polenta with mutton. Restaurant’s celler is the most worthy wines produced by Moldovan winemakers over the last 30 years.

Three cozy rooms are called: "Casa mare", "La cuptor" and a hall for banquets. The largest of them ("Casa mare") in your eyes in this rustic home-  the cookers will bake  bread with a crunchy golden crust and the famous Moldovan pies with all sorts of fillings from sheep's cheese to pumpkin and cherry.

And for connoisseurs of antiquity: in the courtyard restaurant is a little house, as though it has not affected the civilization. This "Casuta Batrineasca" - "parent" house in which all the smells of warmth and comfort of their homes. In it all, like a hundred years ago, stands in its place: a spinning wheel, a chest, a stove  and rugs on the walls.
